How do I clean my sauna?

Proper care and maintenance of your sauna are essential to ensure its longevity and optimal performance. Follow these guidelines to keep your sauna in top condition:

Daily Maintenance

Wipe Down the Interior:
After each use, wipe down the inside of your sauna with a mixture of water and vinegar. This helps remove sweat and bacteria, keeping your sauna clean and fresh. Use a soft towel or cloth for best results.

Ventilation:
Leave the sauna door open after each session to allow proper ventilation. This helps to dry out any remaining moisture and prevents mold and mildew from developing.

Using Towels

Always use towels on the seating and floor areas during your sauna sessions. Towels absorb sweat, protecting the wood from moisture and staining. This not only keeps your sauna clean but also extends the life of the wood by preventing excessive moisture exposure.

Annual Maintenance for Barrel Saunas

Re-coating:
For outdoor barrel saunas, we recommend re-coating the exterior wood every year. This helps protect the wood from the elements and maintains its appearance. Use a high-quality wood sealant or stain designed for outdoor use.

Additional Tips

Avoid Harsh Chemicals:
Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the sauna surfaces. These can damage the wood and reduce the lifespan of your sauna.

Inspect Regularly:

Regularly inspect your sauna for any signs of wear and tear. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage.

Maintain Proper Humidity:
Ensure that your sauna maintains the correct humidity levels. Too much moisture can cause damage to the wood and electrical components, while too little can lead to dryness and cracking.

By following these maintenance tips, you can enjoy a clean, safe, and well-functioning sauna for years to come. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our customer support team.

What are EMF's?

EMF

Electromagnetic
fields (EMFs) are generated by the movement of electric charges and are
present in various forms in our daily lives, including natural sources
like the Earth’s magnetic field and artificial sources like electronic
devices, power lines, and household appliances. EMF is measured in
milligauss (mg)

We offer 3 series of infrared saunas designed to cater to different needs and preferences:

Harmony Series:
This series features low EMF carbon panels. These panels are designed
to minimize EMF exposure, providing a safer and more comfortable
experience for users concerned about electromagnetic fields. The Harmony
Series is an excellent choice if low EMF levels are a priority for
you.EMF is measured in milligauss (mg). The heating panels in our saunas
have been tested between 3cm and 30cm distance from the panel. When
tested at a distance of 3cm away from the heating panel, the mg result
was just 2.3mg.

Serenity Series:
Our full-spectrum Serenity Series saunas offer a broader range of
infrared wavelengths, providing various health benefits. While these
saunas do emit some EMFs, they are still within safe levels, don’t
travel far from the heating elements themselves and comply with
international safety standards. The Serenity Series is ideal for those
looking for a more comprehensive infrared sauna experience with the
benefits of full-spectrum infrared therapy.

 3.Rejuvenex Series:
Our Rejuvenex series use all ceramic far heaters like the full spectrum
these too emit some EMFs, but are well within the safe recommended
levels, don’t travel far from the heating elements themselves and comply
with international safely standards.

We prioritize the safety and well-being of our customers and ensure
that all our saunas are built to high-quality standards, including
considerations for EMF exposure.

What’s the Difference Between an Infrared and Traditional Sauna?

Infrared Saunas

How They Work:

  • Heating Method: Use infrared heaters to directly warm the skin.
  • Temperature: Operate at lower temperatures (50°C - 70°C).

Health Benefits:

  • Detoxification: Helps sweat out toxins at lower temperatures.
  • Improved Circulation: Enhances blood flow, aiding muscle recovery.
  • Pain Relief: Reduces muscle and joint pain through heat penetration.
  • Skin Health: Can improve skin conditions like acne and eczema.
  • Relaxation: Gentle heat provides stress relief.
  • Weight Loss: Burns calories by increasing heart and metabolic rates.

Traditional Saunas (Heated Rocks)

How They Work:

  • Heating Method: Use a stove to heat rocks, which warm the air.
  • Temperature: Operate at higher temperatures (65°C - 90°C).

Health Benefits:

  • Cardiovascular Health: Boosts heart rate and circulation.
  • Detoxification: Promotes sweating to eliminate toxins.

Key Differences

Heat Levels:

  • Infrared: Lower, gentler heat.

Sweating:

  • Both: Promote sweating, but infrared does so at lower temperatures.

Circulation:

  • Both: Improve circulation; traditional saunas might have a stronger effect due to higher heat.

Skin Health:

  • Both: Are beneficial, with infrared possibly offering deeper heat benefits.

Respiratory Benefits:

  • Traditional: Provide steam, which helps with nasal and sinus congestion.

Relaxation:

  • Infrared: Offer a more comfortable, relaxing experience.
  • Traditional: Provide a more intense heat experience.

Conclusion

Both types of saunas offer significant health benefits. Choose based on your comfort level, health goals, and personal preference.

How Often Do I Need to Change the Water in My Ice Bath?

The frequency of water changes for your ice bath depends on several factors, including usage and maintenance practices. Here’s a general guideline:

Arctic Oasis and Arctic Cedar Series:

  • Advanced Filtration Systems: These series are equipped with filters, ozone, and UV light, which help keep the water clean and extend the time between water changes.
  • Water Change Interval: With regular use and proper maintenance, you should change the water every 3 to 4 weeks. However, this can vary based on how often the ice bath is used and the overall cleanliness.

Chilled Barrel:

  • Mechanical Filtration Only: The Chilled Barrel features a mechanical filtration system but does not include ozone treatment.
  • Water Change Interval: For the Chilled Barrel, it is recommended to change the water every 1 to 2 weeks, depending on usage and water quality. Regularly cleaning the filter and monitoring the water’s clarity and smell is essential.

General Maintenance Tips:

  • Regular Cleaning: Even with advanced filtration, it's essential to clean the ice bath regularly. Wipe down the interior and check the filters periodically.
  • Monitor Water Quality: Keep an eye on the water's clarity and smell. If the water appears cloudy or has an unpleasant odor, it’s time for a change.
  • Follow Manufacturer’s Guidelines: Always refer to the user manual for specific maintenance instructions and recommended intervals for your particular model.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure your ice bath remains clean and ready for use, providing you with the best possible experience.

Can my Sauna go outside?

Yes, you can place your sauna outside, but there are some considerations to keep in mind:

Outdoor Barrel Saunas:

  • Designed for Outdoors: Our outdoor barrel saunas are specifically designed to withstand outdoor conditions. They are durable and weather-resistant, making them a perfect choice for an outdoor setting.
  • Maintenance: To ensure longevity, we recommend re-coating the exterior wood annually with a high-quality wood sealant or stain designed for outdoor use.

Indoor Saunas:

  • Undercover Use: Our indoor saunas can also be placed outside, but they must be kept under a cover and out of direct exposure to the elements.
  • Optional Covers: We offer covers that can be purchased separately to protect your indoor sauna when placed outside.

By following these guidelines, you can enjoy the flexibility of having your sauna in an outdoor environment while ensuring its longevity and optimal performance.

Are saunas expensive to run?

The cost of running a sauna can vary based on several factors, including the type of sauna, frequency of use, and local electricity rates. Here’s what you need to know:

Factors Influencing the Cost

Type of Sauna:

  • Infrared Saunas: Generally more energy-efficient, these saunas heat up faster and operate at lower temperatures compared to traditional saunas.
  • Traditional Saunas: These use more electricity as they heat the air to higher temperatures and take longer to warm up.

Usage Frequency:

  • The more often you use your sauna, the higher your electricity costs will be.

Duration of Sessions:

  • Longer sessions consume more energy. Typical sessions range from 15 to 45 minutes.

Local Electricity Rates:

  • The cost of electricity in your area will impact your overall running costs.

Estimated Costs

Infrared Saunas:

  • Energy Consumption: Around 1-1.6 kW per hour.
  • Average Cost: Approximately $0.40 to $0.80 per hour, depending on local electricity rates.

Traditional Saunas:

  • Energy Consumption: Around 3-8 kW per hour.
  • Average Cost: Approximately $0.86 to $1.60 per hour, depending on local electricity rates.

How Long and How Often Should I Use My Sauna?

Duration of Each Sauna Session:

  • Beginner Users: Start with shorter sessions of 10-15 minutes to allow your body to acclimate to the heat.
  • Experienced Users: As you become more accustomed to the sauna, you can extend your sessions to 20-30 minutes.
  • Maximum Duration: Avoid exceeding 30-45 minutes per session, as prolonged exposure can lead to dehydration or overheating.

Frequency of Sauna Use:

  • General Wellness: For overall health benefits, using the sauna 2-4 times per week is effective. This frequency supports relaxation, improved circulation, and detoxification without overloading your system.
  • Athletic Recovery: If you use the sauna primarily for muscle recovery or sports performance, 3-5 times per week may be beneficial. Sessions can be scheduled post-workout to aid in muscle relaxation and recovery.
  • Stress Relief: For stress management and relaxation, aim for 3-4 sessions per week. Regular use can help alleviate stress and promote mental well-being.
  • Skin Health: To improve skin tone and clarity, using the sauna 2-3 times per week can help maintain healthy skin by promoting sweat and circulation.

Guidelines for Safe Sauna Use:

  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water before and after your sauna session to stay hydrated.
  • Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how your body feels during and after each session. If you feel dizzy, overheated, or unwell, shorten the session or reduce the frequency.
  • Cooling Down: Allow your body to cool down gradually after each session. Take a cool shower or relax in a cool room to help normalize your body temperature.
  • Consultation: If you have any medical conditions or concerns, consult with your healthcare provider to determine the safest and most effective sauna routine for your individual needs.

Summary:

  • Session Length: 10-30 minutes per session, depending on experience level.
  • Frequency: 2-4 times per week for general wellness, up to 5 times per week for athletic recovery.
  • Safety: Stay hydrated, listen to your body, and consult with a healthcare provider if needed.

By following these guidelines, you can enjoy the numerous benefits of sauna use while ensuring a safe and comfortable experience.
