Sauna Care
Sauna Care
1. Use Towels on Benches and Floor
-
Always sit or lie on a towel to absorb sweat and protect the wood from moisture and stains.
-
Place an additional towel or sauna mat on the floor to catch excess moisture and keep the area clean.
-
Wash towels regularly to maintain hygiene.
2. Leave the Door & Roof Vent Open
-
After each use, keep the door open for at least 2 hours or longer to allow proper ventilation and drying.
-
Leave the roof vent open until your next use to promote continuous airflow and prevent moisture buildup.
-
This helps prevent mold, odors, and wood warping.
3. Wipe Down the Interior
-
Use a soft cloth or sponge with a water and white vinegar mix (1:1 ratio) to wipe down the benches, backrests, and floor.
-
This prevents sweat and moisture buildup, reducing the risk of mold and stains.
Following these steps will help keep your sauna fresh, hygienic, and in top condition for years to come!

Mold Cleaning
1. Dry Out the Area
-
Mold thrives in moisture, so first, dry the sauna completely. Run the sauna at a high temperature (around 70°C) for an hour to help kill mold spores and evaporate moisture.
2. Scrub with a Vinegar Solution
-
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle.
-
Spray the affected areas and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
-
Scrub with a soft brush or sponge (avoid metal brushes that may damage the wood).
3. Use Hydrogen Peroxide (If Needed)
-
For stubborn mold, mix 3% hydrogen peroxide with water (1:1 ratio).
-
Apply, let it sit for 10 minutes, and scrub gently.
-
Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
4. Let It Dry & Air Out
-
Leave the sauna open for several hours to ensure complete drying.
5. Prevent Future Mold Growth
-
Wipe down the sauna after each use with a vinegar and water mix.
-
Keep the door open for ventilation after each session for at least 2 hours.
-
Ensure the sauna is in a dry, well-ventilated space.
